Intimacy Directing
Observing the all too common lack of emphasis on consent and quite frequent abuse of power in the theatre community, Marie was inspired to embark on the journey of learning about intimacy direction. They strongly believe that the industry can only benefit from having an intimacy professional on every production, particularly someone who can approach it from a gender netural, non-white standpoint.
With experience from both an actor’s and director’s perspective, they know firsthand how important this role is in a process. Intimacy directors not only advocate for the actors, who often have less power in the room, but also help out directors and creatives by sharing ideas and solutions specific to choreographing intimacy.
